Children’s Pottery Class

Summer is the perfect time for your child to explore and develop their creative ideas through the medium of clay. This sessions will include hand building and decorating techniques produce a range of exciting and different outcomes. Each child will have the opportunity to create their own design using recycled elements such as sea glass and natural botanicals from the local environment. Their creations will be taken away and fired in the kiln to be collected once returned to The Barn.

About the tutor : Mat Hughes is our resident potter who has been teaching ceramics for over 4 years. He has previous experience teaching kindergarten in South Korea and if fully DBS background checked.

Workshop Time: 10am-12pm
Workshop Duration: 2 hours
Cost: £35/pp
Skill set : No prior pottery experience needed.
Age: 7 years up. Under 16’s to be accompanied by an adult
Skills learnt: hand building  and decorating techniques.
What you make: A selection of unique and wonderful pottery pieces.
What is provided: All materials, step by step instruction, kiln firing.
What to bring/wear: Clothes you don’t mind getting messy.
