This course teaches you the basics of modern upholstery including:-
Stripping down the chair
Making & applying your own chalk paint
Application of foam / webbing
Applying your fabric
Before you book, we ask that you send us a photo of your proposed upholstery project. This is so that we can check its suitable for the course and can be finished within the timeframe allocated.
What do I need to bring?
Bring along your first upholstery project, your chosen fabric, a tape measure and a pair of fabric scissors. Face covering (mask) and eye protection ie safety glasses and or a visor should be brought if you do not wear glasses.
Examples of projects you might want to bring  include furniture such as a piano seat or foot stool, occasional dining chair or dressing table stool or Ottoman. Your furniture should be in good repair e.g. the seat of the chair needs reupholstering but no other repairs are needed.
You should be able to carry it up to the first floor of The Barn accessed by approximately 12 steps.
What equipment is supplied?
Upholstery tools including access to pneumatic staple guns, paint, brushes, foam & webbing.
