Times: 6-9pm on each evening
Length: 6 hours over 2 sessions
Cost: £75/person.

Who is this ideal for: Beginners looking to learn the core upholstery skills needed to give a new lease of life to a footstool, drop in seat or small ottoman. A small class of no more than six people guarantees you plenty of expert tuition and support from your tutor, Jane ‘Fanny’ Adams.
Who is the workshop suitable for?
Beginners. This course is perfect for people completely new to paint techniques & upholstery.
What will I learn?
This course teaches you the basics of modern upholstery including:-
Stripping down the chair
Making & applying your own chalk paint
Application of foam / webbing
Applying your fabric
Once you’ve booked, we ask that you send us a photo of your proposed upholstery project. This is so that we can check its suitable for the course and can be finished within the timeframe allocated.
What do I need to bring?
Bring along your first upholstery project, your chosen fabric, a tape measure and a pair of fabric scissors. Face covering (mask) and eye protection ie safety glasses and or a visor should be brought if you do not wear glasses.
Examples of projects you might want to bring include furniture such as a piano seat or foot stool, occasional dining chair or dressing table stool or Ottoman. Your furniture should be in good repair e.g. the seat of the chair needs reupholstering but no other repairs are needed.
You should be able to carry it up to the first floor of The Barn accessed by approximately 12 steps.
What equipment is supplied?
Upholstery tools including access to pneumatic staple guns, paint, brushes, foam & webbing.
About the tutor
Jane has a degree in Design and also graduated from Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in costume.
She has appeared in TV and worked in film and ran her own shop and gallery for 10 years.
